An open letter To All the Girls who believe they aren't enough... Each of us has or had negative thoughts. I asked a few of my friends to tell me something they love about themselves and something they wish they could change. When they responded, I longed for them to see what I see in them. Each human being is different; we need to stop comparing ourselves to one another based on looks, skills, and popularity. "Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Lives Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid". Everyone has different abilities. To feel like you aren't enough is a feeling I'm quite used to, dealing with anxiety and depression, etc. With all of that, it's hard to feel like I'm supposed to be in this world. On the other hand, I know I was put in this world for a good reason, to help others.

What does enough mean? Does it mean that you're skinny? Does it mean that you have perfect grades, the ideal family? Nobody has everything. To All the Girls who have felt the way I do, I long for you to see the way other people see you. I so desperately want you to see how incredibly amazing you are. And like it says on my wall, "be your own kind of beautiful." You are strong, brave, capable, and ready for anything that comes your way; you are more than enough.

This is a letter to the girls who feel as if they're a waste of space, to the ones who feel like nothing will ever go their way. I sit awake at night, wondering if I'm even meant to be in this world, wondering if I am enough. To find the beauty in life, you must first find beauty in yourself. Social media doesn't help either, seeing people with the expectations of one thing, Not knowing what's real, and trying to live up to those standards. To feel as if you are "enough," what do you have to accomplish within yourself? The issue that so many adolescents, teenagers, and adults have is that they don't know who they are and who they should be. To All the Girls who believe that they aren't enough, you are and then some. You're still here on this earth; you were put here for a reason. There are times when you are going to feel like you don't know who you are, and that's ok. After going to residential, the hospital, and program after program, I've started to learn some of my core beliefs. It's the little things you find joy in life, like when your cat has poop on her tail and wipes on your friend. Or when you find your favorite food at the grocery store when you've been looking for it for weeks. And when you feel loved by somebody, more importantly, feeling loved by yourself. To all the girls who don't believe they're enough, you will find your purpose in life; you have to keep going and really just stay true to yourself. You're not the only one that feels this way; your body is the way it should look. Your voice is supposed to sound like that. Your nose is meant to have that little bump on the bridge that makes you unique from everybody else. You are the definition of beautiful.
